The Local Government Totally Funds  The Fire Department

While we do receive limited tax support from the Borough of Old Forge, about 75% of our operating income is generated by the membership of the department. By far, the fund drive is our major source of operating income. 

You're Always Looking to Buy New, Expensive Equipment

While it is true that equipment is expensive, we only purchase what we need to do the job. In fact over the past few years, all the fire companies that we work with have improved communications when it comes to purchasing equipment and apparatus to eliminate any duplication.

The Fire Department Is Responsible Only  For Fire Protection Services

The fire department provides more that fire protections services. We handle a vast array of emergencies from vehicle rescue to responding to a plane crash. We routinely check home and business when carbon monoxide detectors active. When any emergency occurs, we help the community without hesitation! 

We Have A Paid Fire Department

The membership of Lawrence Hose Company is all volunteer. Our members are not paid for their services but volunteer out of sense of pride and commitment without receiving a pay check. 

In reality our members lose money by volunteers they often miss work or spend some of their own money to buy equipment or attend training. Sometimes people confuse being professional  had nothing to do with being paid. Our firefighters pride themselves on attaining the highest level of training. Each year our firefighters tally over 1,000 hour of training. 

Unfortunately, to do all of this it takes money.   We don’t ask for much...just your financial support. Please don’t disappoint us . When you receive our request for donation, please don't dissappoint us.....
