Friend remembering friends
Relationship with FDNY goes back to 1988
Over the years, the members of Engine 93 and their FDNY counterparts have become close friends.

"I first met Lt. Navarra from Ladder 35 in the fall of October 1988," said James Williams, Captain of 93 Engine. "We became good friends and he invited us out to ride at their station in Manhattan."

"Lt. Navarra even had me and my family to their company picnic  at Lake Wallapaupack,"note WIlliams. "So the unbelievable shock of hearing that they lost 11 men was just so disheartening. A few funerals and many tears later we decided to do something small but personable."

"We had shirts made with a logo and added there company names under it commemorating this tragic day.  On the back we added the FDNY so the could wear them while they worked.  This was a joint effort of all three companies in Old Forge. It was just a small token to let them know we will never forget the men that gave there lives on 9-11-01," Williams said.
